One-Day Tournament: Saturday 12 April 2014

Results:

26 players came to the one-day Tournament Saturday April 12th. This was the second tournament at the Seattle Chess Club, and it went very smoothly. Thanks to everyone who checked on time, we actually got started early and the tournament was over and prizes handed out by 7pm! Great job, Jane!

Out-of-towners were more of a threat in this tournament than back in January, but a few local players won money. Rebecca Slivka won division B; in division C, Jane Bissonnette came in 2nd followed by Alice Goodwin in 3rd; and Rafi Stern came in 3rd place in the top division. Geoff Tongue, Tom Bond, and Normal Lemoine won prizes for high play in their respective divisions.

Jane Bissonnette organized everything, and directed, and played!, (with the help of Lynn Dreyer's son Charlie who did most of the data entry), using Marc Levesque's Director! program to do the pairings and results, Zyzzyva for word judging, and cross-tables for maintaining the player entrant list. Donations were made to Cross-tables, Zyzzyva, and Director! from the tournament proceeds in appreciation for their use.
